



(BOW)– Travelers who use the Bow Hill rest areas along northbound and southbound Interstate 5, north of Burlington, will need to make alternate arrangements or consider using the safety rest areas at either I-5 at Smokey Point or I-5 at Custer due to the following closures:
- From 8 a.m. Monday, March 13 until 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 14 the southbound I-5 Bow Hill rest area will be closed.
- From 8 a.m. Wednesday, March 15 until 4 p.m. Thursday, March 16 the northbound I-5 Bow Hill rest area will be closed.
Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will spend most of next week doing routine maintenance work and hazardous tree removal at the Bow Hill rest area, according to a news release from WSDOT. Travelers may also notice that the RV dumping station at the Smokey Point safety rest area will be closed beginning Monday, March 13, however, the rest area facilities will remain open.
