Skagit County Public Health solicits feedback on proposed changes to the schedule of charges
(SKAGIT COUNTY)- Skagit County Public Health is seeking feedback on proposed changes to its Schedule of Charges that would take effect January 1, 2027.
The proposed changes include fee increases for select Environmental Health services, including Retail Food Safety, On-Site Sewage, Drinking Water, and miscellaneous Environmental Health services with hourly rates. Updates to some Vital Records charges are also proposed, according to a news release from the county.
The proposed changes are intended to more closely align fees with the cost of providing services and support the long-term sustainability of these programs.
Environmental Health staff will host two community engagement sessions to share information about the proposed changes, answer questions, and receive feedback. Both sessions will offer in-person and virtual participation.

The Skagit County Board of Health will hold a formal public hearing on Monday, October 5, from 2:00–3:00 p.m. Community members may participate in person or virtually.
The public hearing provides an additional opportunity for community members, providers, and other interested parties to provide formal public comment on the proposed changes.
