Mariners celebrating longtime broadcaster Rick Rizzs during final home series Sept. 25-27

(SEATTLE)- The Seattle Mariners announced on Tuesday that the club will celebrate the legendary broadcasting career of Rick Rizzs during the final series of the regular season from Sept. 25-27, according to mariners.com. Rick Rizzs Farewell Weekend will feature a range of events celebrating Rick and his many contributions to the Mariners organization.

In January, Rizzs announced his plan to retire after the 2026 season – his 41st season as a broadcaster with the Mariners and his 52nd season in Professional Baseball.

Rizzs is the longest-tenured broadcaster in Mariners history, with his 41 seasons surpassing Mariners Hall of Famer Dave Niehaus’ 34-year career in Seattle. On Saturday, Aug. 8, during the Mariners 50th Season celebration, the club announced that Rizzs will join Niehaus in the Mariners Hall of Fame as the second non-uniformed member to receive the honor. Rick’s induction will take place next season in a special pregame ceremony at T-Mobile Park.
