If the WUTC approves all proposals the combined effect is an overall decrease in annual revenues of 16.17%. (SKAGIT COUNTY)- Skagit County Parks and Recreation will host a ribbon cutting event on Friday, September 19th, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Northern State Recreation Area. (SKAGIT COUNTY)- Due to recent samples of shellfish containing elevated levels of Paralytic Shellfish Poisoning (PSP) toxins (in exceedance of 80 micrograms PSP/100 grams of shellfish tissue), the Washington State Department of Health (WA DOH) has closed recreational harvest for all shellfish species in Samish Bay. Closures for recreational harvest of butter and varnish clams have also been issued for West Fidalgo Island, Cypress Island, Sinclair Island, and Guemes Island, except the southern shoreline from Kelly’s Point east to Long Bay, according to news release from the county. (OLYMPIA)- On Wednesday, the Washington Department of Ecology released the results of the 11th quarterly Cap-and-Invest auction, according to a news release from Ecology. Ecology Director Casey Sixkiller issued the following statement: “Today’s auction results underscore the confidence that businesses and investors have in Washington’s market and our commitment to bold climate action,” Sixkiller said. “The Cap-and-Invest Program is here to stay, and businesses are making long-term investments that will assist in decarbonizing their operations.” In the quarterly auction, held Sept. 3, all 6,937,001 allowances available sold at a settlement price of $64.30.
